The KaDeWe is a landmark of Berlin. Famous is the largest department store in the city, among other things, for its unusual window decorations. From 15 to 25 August, the store windows along the front of the building at Tauenntzienstraße 21-24 will present a very special gallery: As part of the industry campaign #Berlinproduziert, ten Berlin-based industrial companies were staged out of the ordinary by artists of the Berlin Art Bang Association.
ne of these companies is the Berlin chocolate manufacturer Rausch. "Masterpiece" stands in large letters over a gilded picture frame, which presents a frenzy of chocolate in the room. The background of the showroom is painted liquid chocolate, which dynamically splatters in a classic pink pattern in old pink to brown hues. The showcase artwork was designed by Tank, one of a total of eleven street art artists of the Berlin Art Bang association, who were commissioned by Berlin Partner to design the shop windows. Stefan Rombach, responsible for PR and communication at Rausch GmbH, is enthusiastic about the chocolate masterpiece: "I think Tank's interpretation is great! Our product is clearly in the center and also the coloring fits exactly to our enterprise."
Katrin Thiere, marketing expert at building automation specialist Kieback & Peter, also likes the showcase dedicated to her company: "The flowing fictional elements in the background form an exciting contrast to the clear forms of the Reichstag motif in the foreground. This staging of contrasts is very well done by the artist Isakov. As part of our work at Kieback & Peter, we also deal with such contrasts. As a very down-to-earth Berlin-based company, we develop intelligent solutions for public and commercial buildings on a daily basis. "
The ten-day showcase exhibition, which features not only Rausch and Kieback & Peter but also Bayer, the BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin, Florida Eis, Otis, Siemens, Vattenfall, Wall and WürthElectronics eiSos, is also the culmination of Berlin's industrial campaign #MADEINBERLIN launched in spring 2018. A further 13 motifs will be presented on the LED wall on Kurfürstendamm, at the corner of Joachimsthaler Straße, until 26th August. "With the staging we go new ways, off the usual paths. This exceptionality is what makes Berlin and Berlin's industry. " Stefan Franzke, Managing Director of Berlin Partner, adds: "Bringing together economy and street art in this unique combination that can only work in Berlin."
In total, 27 poster motifs were developed for the industrial campaign in close cooperation with the Berlin artist Martin Roller. They illustrate the high innovative strength of Berlin's industry in an abstract way. The artists participating in the showcase project are: Daniela Uhlig, Deer BLN, Felix Rodewaldt, Isakov, KEFArt, Kera, Size2, Stereoheat, Tank, Timo Becker and YAT.
The exhibition in the KaDeWe Berlin can be admired from 15 to 25 August 2018. A window shopping along the Tautentzienstraße is worthwhile at the moment - and of course a visit to the legendary department store in City West.
