Track-European-Championships 2017

From October 19-22, the Track-European-Championships 2017 will be held in the German capital. That weekend, 300 athletes from 30 nations, among them numerous world champions and Olympians, will compete for the 23 coveted titles of the European champions. The venue will be the Velodrome at the Landsberger Allee, which was resurfaced for the upcoming championships. By hosting the Track-European-Championships, Berlin is once again positioning itself as the no. 1 sports metropolis and is looking forward to exciting competitions in front of a home crowd.

Indoor Hockey World Cup 2018:

The 5th Indoor Hockey World Cup for women and men will be held in the German capital  from February 7-11, 2018. Germany is stepping in for Argentina, who had withdrawn their application for the World Cup event last year. After 2003 and 2015 in Leipzig, the title competitions will take place for the third time in a German city. The Max-Schmeling-Halle will be the venue in Berlin. By hosting the Indoor Hockey World Cup, Germany is once again highlighting its position as a hockey nation. The sports metropolis Berlin is looking forward to exciting competitions of the world’s best hockey athletes, as well as an emotional atmosphere in the Max-Schmeling-Halle.

European Athletics Championship 2018:

The anticipation is great: Germany’s biggest sporting event in the coming year will take place from August 7-12, 2018 in the Olympiastadion Berlin. The 24th  European Athletics Championships will attract over 1,600 athletes from 50 member organizations to the Spree River, who will compete for the 47 coveted medals. Nearly 300,000 spectators are expected in the Olympiastadion on the six competition days. For the first time, the 2018 European Championships, made up of 7 European championships of top sports athletics, swimming, gymnastics, cycling, rowing, triathlon, and golf are being held as a new and powerful multi-sport event. While the European Athletics Championships are being held in Berlin, at the same time athletes will compete for their medals and European Championship titles in the other 6 sports from August 2-12, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland. 2018 is therefore shaping up to be an exciting summer of sports in the sport metropolis Berlin.
